Rolls Royce = Art

I know I wrote a car blog not long ago but I’m writing another one. One reason to write another car blog is that I just need to get my mind off of all of the craziness and pressures of our world and our country right now. One of the ways I wind down and relax is to think about another passion in my life beside God, wife, family and church. The other passion in my life are automobiles. I love many different types of automobiles. In fact a good designed, incredible looking car is like a fine piece of art too me. Rolls Royce is one of the finest car companies in the world and in my estimation they don’t just create cars, but they create works of art. I know, not everyone will agree with me but I love the way a Rolls Royce looks. The lines, the proportions and craftsmanship are exceptional. I love many different cars but Rolls Royces are some of my favorites. Since I’m a pastor, probably the closest I will ever get to a Rolls Royce is to look at photos and that’s ok. So join with me as I admire a few of my faves in the world of automobiles, the Roll Royce Phantom, Phantom Drophead Coupe and Phantom Coupe.

Nothing Like A Monday Morning!

Monday mornings are usually never a big hit with anyone. Let’s admit it. It’s just hard to get going after a weekend of rest and relaxation or an intense Sunday of work as a Pastor. Sundays are an emotional and physical drain because in most every pastor’s view, Sundays are your biggest chance to reach people so you don’t want to mess it up. Pastor Byron and the rest of the Management Team pour our prayers and our hearts into Sundays and in some respects are sad to see them pass but know we have another Sunday coming up which we need to work hard to get ready for.

With that said let me talk about yesterday just a little. What another amazing day at C3 Church. A great Sunday morning of worship, communion and hearing what the Word of God says about jealousy. Next on the Sunday’s agenda were baptisms. We had 25 people baptised yesterday afternoon at the Blanchard YMCA. Their family and friends came out as we celebrated what God is doing in the lives of so many new Christians at C3 Church. It was just an incredible time! Then it was off to Community Group. We had 18 people in our CG last night. Four brand new people for the first time. God is just growing our CG’s and our bond with each other as we see Him moving at C3 Church.

In conclusion not bad for a Sunday. Yes I am tired and drained but I am so pumped and encouraged by the movement of God in our church. So good-bye Sunday, hello Monday and Sunday is coming back around again.

First Week Of CG’s

Last week was the first full week of Community Groups here at C3 Church for the spring. I have been getting good reports from our CG Facilitators. I can not tell you how excited I am over the huge response we received last month for CG sign ups during the “Mosaic” series.

I have also recieved good reports on the new curriculum we use for all CG’s. In case you didn’t know we now have downloadable CG Curriculum Guides from our website, c3church.cc.

These CG Curriculum Guides are accessible to everyone and are easy to download. The curriculum is all sermon based which means you can go to the website on Sunday afternoon and download the CG Curriculum Guide that corresponds to Pastor Byron’s message from that Sunday morning. All you have to do is go to the website and click on the “Check Out the Messages” box on the left hand side of the website. Then click on the “CG” with the corresponding message and the curriculum guide pops up and you can print it out. It just that easy!

I am just so pumped over how God is going to move in people’s lives through our Community Groups. If you haven’t tried a CG you don’t know what you are missing! The first week of the spring semester of CG’s has been a huge success and this semester should be the best we have ever had in CG at C3 Church!

Ford Is Back

As most everyone knows I love cars. I have a car blog that I never can keep up with because there are more pressing things in my life then keeping up with a car blog; it’s hard enough to keep one blog current. So just one quick car blog post in the midst of all my serious blogs that I normally post.

I have always been a Ford man even though my main vehicle right now is not a Ford. I have always had a special place in my heart for Fords so I have been watching the dismal American auto industry, hoping that my preferred American automaker will be able to weather the storm. Ford is actually the most viable American automaker right now but it’s not over so I hope they make it. If the new products are any indication Ford actually has a fighting chance. So here is Ford’s new flagship car. The 2010 Ford Taurus is unbelievable. The top of the line Ford Taurus, SHO, 0-60 in 4.8sec. That’s BMW 5 Series territory! Good looking too. Welcome back Ford!

Last Week, Busy & Crazy

Last week was very busy and crazy at the same time. Last week Andrea & I received the news from her doctor that she is 6wks pregnant and we are on our way to becoming parents. That was very cool and exciting news. We can’t wait to hear if our baby will be a boy or girl so we can start planning.

At the same time it was one of the busiest weeks I have had in a long time. We have had almost two hundred people sign up to be in Community Groups at C3 Church. I needed to get everyone placed and CG’s up an rolling for this week. A crazy big undertaking that could not have been done without the help of my gracious and talented assistant, Diane Vaught. With her help we were able to place everyone and get CG’s moving this week.

We also started writing our own sermon based curriculum that went live and online yesterday from our church website, c3church.cc . This also could not have been accomplished without the other guys on the management team. I am very fortunate to work with friends who all have a passion for the ministry we are a part of without the old walls of “I will only help if it has to do with my area” sort of mentality.

God is doing some incredible things in my life and in the life of C3 Church. I feel very fortunate to play a role in this incredible movement. Some weeks will be on the heavy side of busy and last week was one of those times. There is a lot going on personally and professionally but God is overseeing it all. So last week was busy & crazy but all good!

Wow, Daddy!

Well, this will be short & sweet for right now until I can gather my thoughts. It is official, Andrea & I are going to be parents. It will feel cool to be a daddy! Although at this point I’m not sure quite what to expect but obviously I’ll find out. It looks like there will be a new little Loper around September. That’s it for now. Kind of surreal but good. Wow, a daddy!
