After seeing this picture of a Marine barely escaping his death in Afghanistan. I once again realize how our military continues to confront evil to protect the freedoms we enjoy. Even though the war is winding down in Iraq; the war is getting more intense in Afghanistan. So please, please continue to pray for our troops and thank you to every man and woman that serves their country so valiantly!

Memorial Day

There are two days set aside in this country where we specifically honor those people who sacrifice so much to serve our country, Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day. Today is the day when we celebrate those men and women and their families who paid the ultimate sacrifice by losing their lives while in the line of duty for their country. Although my dad served in WWII he did not lose his life in the war. I can not even begin to imagine what the families of brave soldiers that have lost their lives go through. What honor can we that benefit from their sacrifices begin to offer them?

In 1987 I had the privilege to participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the “Tomb of the Unknowns” at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.. It was such an honor to recognize the sacrifice that so many have made for our great country. So to answer my question that I posed earlier. Let’s live our lives in such a way to make their sacrifices count. Love our God, our Country, our families and do our best to appreciate the freedom that has been paid for by their blood. Let’s make our Country a little better place to live. Love others more than we do ourselves. Reach out with Christ to touch our neighborhoods and our world. Their sacrifice has given us the freedom to make sure that “Love Wins”.

So to all the service men and women who have laid down their lives in any war or conflict that the United States has had and to their loving families, all I or anyone else can say is thank you. Thank you for your sacrifice and may God grant you peace as we honor your loved one on this day. Memorial Day!

logo-low.jpgI know it’s a little late but I wanted to say how proud I am of all of the volunteers at C3 Church and the impact you all made this last Sunday. Of course everyone knows it was Easter and we were expecting a lot of people checking out C3 Church for the first time. Just like Pastor Byron, Pastor Barry and Pastor Travis shared on their blogs, Sunday was a huge success. We had 718 people in attendance and plenty of first time guests. None of it could have happened without the couple hundred volunteers that worked so hard on Sunday. You all are making a lasting impact on East Orlando like never before. God has given the vision for C3 and you are helping it come to pass. Let me just say Thank You! You make my job as Connections Pastor such a joy and pleasure! Thank you God for C3 Church!
